With free Jio services set to finish on 31st March, Paytm has added Jio to its list of telecom operators for the prepaid recharges. The declaration was made on social platform by the biggest digital payments company of India on Twitter.
Besides, the option for paying Jio postpaid bills is yet to be added on Paytm. When there is no official word on it yet, the Jio postpaid bill payment option may be added once the billing cycles of the operator come to an end towards May.
Other third-party recharge sites like RechargeItNow and MobiKwik also have Jio in their list of telecom operators for prepaid recharges. Besides, FreeCharge, another popular name in this domain, is yet to add Jio to its list.
Jio users will require starting paying for services beginning 1st April, once the Jio Happy New Year Offers comes to a completion. While the roaming services and voice calls will remain free indefinitely, services like the bundled apps and 4G will become chargeable.
For softening this blow, the organisation has introduced the Jio Prime subscription plan which offers the option for availing extra data per month at the similar prices as the prepaid recharges, alongside the bundled apps worth Rs. 10,000. For combating the new operator, Vodafone, Airtel, and Idea have introduced their own offers which give users 1GB of data daily, same as Jio.
